Country Fried Steak

Ingredients

  • 4-6 pieces chopped steak
  • 1 cup flour
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 cubes beef bouillon
  • onion flakes

Instructions

  • Heat about ¼ to ½” of oil in a frying pan.
  • Dredge meat in flour, then place in hot oil. Brown and turn over to brown the other side. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and onion flakes or powder.
  • When brown again, add water to cover, and add bouillon cubes. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 30 min. Watch so that it keeps water over the meat. Near end of cooking, you can mix flour and water to add to make more gravy and heat through until thickened. (Sometimes there is already plenty of gravy.)
  • Serve with mashed potatoes
